Individual Therapist
Jessica LaJoie, LMSW
Have you ever known exactly what you should do, but found that knowing does not actually make it any easier to do it?
Maybe you know you are too hard on yourself. You know you need better boundaries. You know something from your past is affecting you. You may even understand exactly where the pattern came from—and somehow you still find yourself right back in it. That is the kind of thing I love getting curious about in therapy. My style is conversational, curious, and straightforward. I want therapy to feel like a place where you can say, "I know this doesn't make sense, but..."; and we can actually figure out why it makes sense. Sometimes that means looking at where a pattern started. Other times, it means realizing that something that once helped you survive no longer helps you.
I work with adults navigating anxiety, trauma, grief, relationship challenges, perfectionism, self-esteem, parenting and family stress, and major life transitions. I particularly enjoy working with people who are used to being the capable one who handles things, takes care of everyone else, or keeps going long after they are exhausted.
My approach is trauma-informed and incorporates Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and strengths-based intervention. I don't believe there is one formula that works for everyone. We'll work together to understand what's happening beneath the surface, decide what you actually want to change, and find ways of getting there that make sense for your life.
Before becoming a social worker, I served in the U.S. Army as an Intelligence Analyst. My military experience has also shaped my interest in working with veterans and military families, particularly around trauma, identity, resilience, and navigating major transitions.

My passion lies in helping others navigate the challenges of life. I understand how daunting it can be to reach out for help and to open up to someone. That is why I strive to create a safe, non-judgmental environment where you can feel heard and supported.
With a holistic approach, I specialize in strength-based, person-centered therapy, recognizing that each individual is unique with their own goals. I graduated from the University of Georgia in 2021 and am currently a Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW). My areas of expertise include substance use disorders, self-esteem issues, anxiety and depression, and grief and loss.
I take pride in being LGBTQIA+ friendly, body positive, and sex positive, and my goal is to foster a nurturing space for healing. It would be an honor to embark on this journey with you.
